put a miriam on there (the best name obviously) as in the miriam from the bible, and maybe Helena as well (from greek myths)

My daughter is named Sarina, meaning "little princess", in italian. It originates from Sara. If two people named Sara were in a family, the older person would be Sara (princess) and the younger Sarina (little princess). People always assume that she is sicilian, because of the spelling.

I love the names Lydia and Rosalie for girls. And I love the names Cullen, Jasper and Emmett for boys.
My name is Claire Elizabeth. I think its quite old fashioned. I like it.

I was lucky enough to get a unique first name like Hope and my mom went traditional with Renee for a middle name. I don't know if its what you are looking for but it works quite well for me.

I would not recommend the name Prudence. I'm a R.N. and have nursed women with this name. They all had "nick names", because they hated the stigma that came with Prudence. The meaning implies a "prude". A person would have to have an extemely wonderful personality to overcome what her name implies. I love the other names on your list. I hope I am helpful to your decision. I am 38yrs old and the mother of two teens, Alexander and Sarina. These names were on the top of my name list when I was only 10yrs young. Take care.

All of your input in very interesting. My boyfriend and I are looking for a name for our new yellow lab. I really like traditional/old names. I had to laugh when I keep seeing either his first or last name come up (benjamin titus)
As far as the dog goes, I'm leaning toward Oscar, Payton/Paton/Peyton, Duke, Romo/Romeo/Reno....any thoughts???
For the record, a name that I haven't seen come up a lot is mine, Angie. It's taken from Angela/Angelina and I love it. It's a little unique, and a lot of people remember it from the rolling stones hit song. (I'm 26 yrs old).
Good luck everyone!!!

My birth name is Doris but I've never been called that; everyone has always used the short-form or "nick-name" for it - Dodi (also, Dot, Dottie, Dori, etc). I've always told everyone I know, be very careful what you name your child. I was teased a lot as a kid for having such a strange name (then even more when the other kids found out it was short for Doris). And now, as an adult, I still have to repeat it several times before people "get it"; I still get called Jodi - even by some who have known me long enough to know better. And I still get teased for Doris! I know it's simple immaturity on their part, but it still gets on my nerves!

I'm fourteen and i also have my childrens names and nicknames picked out. My mother had my nickname picked out in seventh grade and i like it. Tell me what you think.

Middle name- Rosalie (Means rose)

Boy- Malachai (means My messenger)
Nickname- Chai (Life)
