This mob Myxertones have an interesting site that (in their words) allows you to quickly and easily make mobile phone ringtones and wallpapers. If you're an independent artist or other original content owner, you can use our MyxerTags™ technology to share and sell mobile content from your own website, or you can have it featured on the MyxerTones website. And with MyxerCodes™, anyone can get your content directly from their mobile phone using simple text messages! Great concept. I managed to upload my old-fashioned telephone ringtone and I even managed to get it sent to my cellphone (here in Paris).

To put a link on your site (to share your homemade ringtone) you need to create an account and then from your dashboard select the "Create a New Product" button on the right and then upload your music or sounds from your computer or a website. This is what the button looks like. Click on that and you can have my latest funky ringtone sent directly to your phone (don't forget to put + in front of your country code)

Then to be able to sell your own music or sounds you need to apply for a MyxerIndie status. This is all a bit clunky in my opinion. But if it works...then it's a good idea. You can make 30% of what you price your sounds at - paid through PayPal. And don't forget that your ringtones can go onto their featured list as well.
