Pushing the Envelope
![]()
Lucky findOne of the clever young Irish designers from TheBigWordProject has come up with an idea to publicise the lack of arts funding in Northern Ireland. The campaign is called Push the Envelope. The creator, Paddy Donnelly says -
Increasingly aware that regular posters and flyers do not encourage people to look at them as much these days, I came up with a different way to reach the people. I placed posters inside wage packets and distributed them around Belfast - in bus shelters, trains, in the pub, on the street, park benches, everywhere!
He was amused at how sneaky people were as they checked around them before picking up the wage packet. I bet there were a few expletives deleted when they realised they'd been had. The flyers encouraged people to visit the Keep Our Arts Alive website to register their support. The posters contained some information on the lack of funding in Northern Ireland compared to Scotland, England and Wales.
