Holey-Moley it's a QANTAS jet!
This picture shows the damage sustained by Qantas flight QF5 on March 8 last year after it was damaged by a blown tyre shortly after take-off.
The flight was travelling from Singapore to Frankfurt with 408 people on board.
Qantas chief Geoff Dixon denied there was any cover up, or danger for staff and passengers.
WTF!!I guess it's just damage to the landing gear section but geeze - you'd be worried if you saw that, wouldn't you?
Since its privatisation in 1993, Qantas has been one of the most profitable airline in the world (and most profitable in 2002). It was recently voted 2nd best airline in the world in the 2006 World Airline Awards (with surveys conducted by Skytrax) behind British Airways[part owners of QuaintArse]
Nothing to do with this but here's a great series of photos of a Malaysia Airlines 747 coming in to land at the infamous Runway 13, Hong Kong Airport, Kai Tak (now closed). How'd you like to be on this baby? Whadya mean I'm a Cowboy?
And how's this story? About a 767 that ran out of fuel at 40,000 feet and was glided to a safe landing at an abandoned airport used for drag-racing. Amazing. How to land a 767 without engines
