That has got to be the lamest "homage" I've ever seen. Pathetic.

But I wouldn't expect you to get it. You're not Australian. Don't suppose you've ever heard or seen "The Footie Show"?

...furthermore...it's not a sacred cow you know. This Carlton ad. cost AU$1 Million to make and 8 months later Carlton Draught's share of the New South Wales beer market was static at 9%. Nationally it did a bit better - up 0.5%. Normally a successful beer campaign shows results in six to ten weeks.

Yes it's a great-looking ad and it's sure to pick up prizes at Cannes, yada yada yada. But did it sell more Carlton Draught? Not really. Not enough to justify the $1 Million spend, I reckon. But still and all...i love it.
