YouTube? No - You Bewdy!

I love a good fair-dinkum Aussie ad., me. Unilever Australia promoted Lipton Ice Tea in 2004 with a campaign of wry honesty. I found these two bewdies at Duncan's TV Adland - an excellent advertising blog. Whadya make of that Sealboy?

The spots were produced by J.Walter Thompson where I started as a Despatch Boy in the mailroom nearly forty years ago. I was bored with school and was itching to get out into the real world. "What do you want to do?" my parents asked. "Advertising" I replied. They were horrified. "Advertising!!" We only ever watched or listened to non-commercial TV and radio at home. They gave me two weeks to get a job they approved of otherwise it was back to school and on to university. Luckily I managed to talk my way into a lowly gig at JWT - then the world's biggest advertising agency. The old man had to approve - he worked for Unilever, one of their major clients. The best part of the job was watching the regular screening of ads from JWT offices around the world. The money wasn't so hot - $16.40 take home pay.

Dude...YouTube is cool, but Veoh blows them away. While YouTube is good for sharing short videos, Veoh is for broadcasting full screen high definition videos. All of the tools of YouTube with none of the restrictions. check out some of the surfin stuff they got on it.
