Motherfucker!
Yeah we have a few snakes in Australia. Not normally as big as this one.

mushroom writes:"Thought everyone might be interested in these photos of a snake caught
on an electric fence on a sheep & cattle station near the Western NSW town of Nyngan.... Some tourists on holidays came across the snake caught in an electric fence, being continually shocked, and getting very angry! The group wondering what to do, decided to divert the current, cut the wire AND let the snake go! (Thinking this was the humane thing to do).

When the property-owner found out he went ballistic, besides being upset about his fence, the snake had been eating lambs in the area and he'd been trying to track it for ages. He did not appreciate the
help!"

Thanks mushie. That's a carpet snake, isn't it? (A Python species) Non-poisonous but can give a nasty bite. I'd like to put one in Simon Mantle's toolshed, if you know what I mean.

Eek. That is one giant snake. What moron would think you should let that go?

Yeah I've seen the shot before too. Can't remember what the caption was. I've seen some big Mothers of Carpets/Pythons up the North Coast but I don't remember them having fangs like that. Hope some expert (probably Frank) will know.

You were right Monsieur le Perve. I just Googled it. It's an Urban Legend. Funny how these things morph as they go round the net.

"Of the seven different captions that have accompanied the preceding images on their email rounds since July 2005, only one correctly identifies their place of origin: a game farm in South Africa. Specifically, the snapshots were taken at the Silent Valley Game Ranch in the Limpopo Province.

As stated on the ranch's Web site, the snake is a four-meter-long rock python which, shortly before its death, had swallowed a full-grown female impala, making its body too fat to squeeze under the electric fence without touching it."

Voila et Touché!
