The real "Rendezvous" car
Hey look at this! My brother, Philip Lambe, just sent me the link to this story on the making of Claude Lelouch's Rendezvous. Seems it wasn't a Ferrari racing through the streets of Paris at all. It was a Benz.
Lelouch: "We put the camera on the bumper-bar of a 6.9 litre Mercedes-Benz. Three of us were inside - I was driving with a cameraman and assistant......at the beginning, on Avenue Foch, we were doing between 150 to 180ks. We hit the Arc de Triomphe roundabout doing 160 then did up to 200kph until Place de la Concorde. We took the Place at 150k. On the Quays (by the river) we hit 200k again."
